GHS Training
OSHA revised their Hazard Communication regulation, 29 CFR 1910.1200 to align with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System. This GHS Hazard Communication Training is designed to provide instruction and certification for employees on this updated standard, and to ensure compliance with OSHA and the Globally Harmonized System.
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, or GHS, is a worldwide system from the United Nations which classifies chemicals, labels, and safety data sheets for hazardous substances. The elements in the GHS supply a mechanism to meet the basic requirements of any hazard communication system, which is to decide if the chemical product produced and/or supplied, is hazardous, and to prepare a label or safety data sheet as appropriate.
Chemicals pose a wide range of health as well as physical hazards. It is imperative that anybody exposed to chemicals in the workplace be professionally trained on how to identify chemicals, understand the threats a hazardous chemical pose, and be able to safely remediate a hazardous chemical situation. Confined Spaces Training
Do you work in or around confined spaces? If so, our brand-new Confined Space Entry Training course is what you need. This safety course will show you how to work in a confined space environment and identify hazards to maximize safety for you and those around you, as well as certify you under the OSHA Confined Spaces standard 29 CFR 1910.146.
From OSHA: Many workplaces contain confined spaces because their configurations hinder the activities of employees who must enter, work in, and exit them. These confined spaces have limited or restricted means for entry or exit, may contain hazards and are not designed for continuous employee occupancy. Confined spaces include, but are not limited to underground vaults, tanks, storage bins, manholes, pits, silos, process vessels, and pipelines.
What is OSHA Confined Space Entry Training?
Confined Space Entry Training is defined under the OSHA Confined Space standard 29 CFR 1910.146. The term “permit-required confined space” (permit space) is used to describe confined spaces that have one or more of the following characteristics or hazards:
- Contains or has the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere
- Contains a material that has the potential to engulf an entrant
- Has walls that converge inward or floors that slope downward and taper into a smaller area which could trap or asphyxiate an entrant
Contains any other recognized safety or health hazards, such as unguarded machinery, exposed live wires, or heat stress.
Who Should Take This Course?
Any worker who may potentially need to work in a confined space as described above, will need to have some form of confined space training, depending on the level of work needed. This entry course is approximately 2 hours in length.
Examples of workers who may need confined space entry safety training include firefighters, construction workers, maintenance technicians, building engineers, lab technicians, welders, pipeline workers, HVAC technicians, emergency response personnel, those working general industry safety roles and more. Scaffold Safety Course
Falling from height is the most common reason for accidents and death in the construction industry. Knowing how to work safely on scaffolds is a big part of protecting yourself from injury or death. In a Bureau of Labor Statistics study, 72% of workers injured in scaffold accidents attributed the accident either to the planking or support giving way, or to the employee slipping or being struck by a falling object. All of these can be controlled by compliance with the OSHA standard for scaffolding 29 CFR 1926.451, outlined in this course. If you work, or are going to be working, in or around scaffolds and at height, then this scaffold course will provide you with a very nice introduction on how you can do this type of work safely.

This course has been designed to aid the safety officer with developing their company’s Health and Safety plan.
